Stick… or cloud?

Gulp, another memory stick reported faulty.

I hate having to tell somebody that they have lost 5 years of work because they are relying on a £10 flimsy memory stick to store their data. These memory sticks, usually none encrypted, are known to get knocked, pulled out when half copying data causing them to become corrupted, lost and overworked. How do we resolve this issue?

Well its easy, use the cloud! As long as you have an internet connection you can access all forms of the cloud be it OneDrive, SharePoint, DropBox, iCloud, Google Drive or Remote Desktop Gateway depending on if this data is work related or personal. If this is work related data you’d need to make sure that this method of storing data complies with your data protection policies. Also technically some cloud providers may store data outside of the UK and you’d need to make sure you’re happy with this.

I know it’s hard to change your way of working and it may be easier to save to a USB stick but please give it a try and see what you think for yourselves!
